The Journey of White Crow Empty The Journey of White Crow

Post by GM_Faux Thu Dec 27, 2018 12:55 am

Her journey started suddenly, she had no idea what she was capable of. This was when she was Diana, not White Crow, not a Hero, not anything special. But there was that one night. She had been walking back from the local game shop. There had been a man following her the whole way. She hadn't noticed and once she left the shop it was dark, and he was still there. Diana took shortcuts through alleyways and dimly lit streets for it was the quickest way to get back home. But tonight would be her downfall. This night where the streets were shimmering with evening rain. He was there, waiting for her. It was sudden she felt the air rush out of her lungs as she collided with the wet pavement. All she could remember was the shimmering of a metallic object, a knife. Something snapped inside her head as the man, whom she knew quite well, climbed on top of her. He put two rough hands around her throat and grasped tightly. She struggled to breathe and what she saw could have very well been a hallucination. An ethereal crow that was white as snow stood perched on a building top. It dived suddenly down its figure becoming smoke that was soon breathed in by the man on top of her. Diana looked in horror as the man's eyes rolled into the back of his head. She thought, and he did... he loosened his grip. She was controlling him somehow. But then she lost control, her thoughts wandered too much and he began contorting and spasming, she screamed loudly, well as loudly as she could with her bruised windpipe. After a moment the crow emerged from the man. He then fell limp, his eyes returning to their normal position, but the damage had already been done and he exhales one ghastly breath of white fog before dying. The fog was dense and heavy and it fell to the ground lightly. Diana couldn't believe her eyes. The fog had become a singular white feather lying peacefully.

That was three years ago, now Diana, now known as White Crow, sits at a blue desk learning about the history of abnormal strength. Her thoughts had wandered, as did the white crow that is usually sat on her shoulder. She is both respected and feared as well as ridiculed about her power and her story. She has gotten better about controlling individuals, but she still struggles with keeping her mind focused on one thing at a time. The crow flaps around the room and one of the other students yell out to her. "Hey! your Bird is loose again!" Diana replies quietly and shyly
"Sorry... I can't think straight right now..."
"Can you ever bird-brain?" The crow vanishes in a cloud of smoke that dissipates quickly and the room is filled with silence once more. Diana shrinks down into her chair pulling the black scarf closer around her face... "sorry..." she says once more almost inaudible to everyone but herself...
